I visited Park Guell while in Barcelona, Spain which is a huge area filled with Antoni Gaudi's work. Each piece is composed of broken ceramic pieces in very colorful, intricate patterns. I wanted to replicate that artwork in my piece as it was such an inspiring place to visit. I created my own "tiles" and surrounded them with painted hot glue to create the ceramic look. The background was a challenge as I wanted it to not stick out as much as the foreground which I ended up accomplishing by layering tissue paper. I had a lot of fun being creative with this piece and although it was hard, I think it ended up being very successful.
