For this piece, I wanted to do another Switzerland piece. I absolutely loved the town of Lucerne for all its history and vibrant culture. It was such a happy place and I wanted to try to capture that feeling in a piece. I had a long, horizontal canvas that I had wanted to use for a while now, but never had the right idea to do it for. I thought it would be a cool concept to represent the town as a whole in an almost panoramic fashion. The town itself is very unique because on one side is the village with all the buildings and the famous bridge, and on the other side are the gorgeous Swiss Alps and Lake Lucerne. I wanted to capture it all in one so I combined a variety of photos I had from my visit there.
I chose a really different color scheme for this piece, utilizing darker colors, more black than usual, and some greens. This piece was a challenge because it was so different than anything I had ever done, but I think that all the detail and layering makes it very unique which I am happy with.
