For our first assignment, we were tasked with drawing something with reflective properties that was also reflective of ourselves. I immediately was drawn to what I was inspired by all summer: my job as a nanny. I got to play everyday which taught me how to just be a kid again and forget about all of the craziness that we often get tangled up in the older we get. The kids I watched taught me so much and truly became a part of me as the summer went on. I knew I wanted to reflect my inner kid in something with reflective qualities so I thought, what better than game pieces?
I began by collecting a lot of game pieces and then I played around with the arrangement and the lighting. I took multiple shots with various compositions in order to get the perfect image.

I did multiple sketches as well to play around with the compositions that I had to choose from.
I decided on the final composition and came up with this color scheme as well. I am going to use Prisma Colors on this piece to continue practicing my skills with them. I am more used to painting and mixed media so I am excited to tackle another drawing. More later!
